This was a fascinating tour. The catacombs were created because of the overflow of the Paris cemeteries in the late 1700s. They actually brought the bones here and displayed them in artistic presentations. Some people were also buried here but most skeletons were transferred after previous burial. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out many interesting things. Less
The tour started on time, we skipped a very long queue and visited areas where the general public has no access. The guide was amazing, while being very knowledgeable made the tour entertaining and the hour and a half passed very quickly.

This was a wonderful tour for our family of four – boys are 13 and 16. It was about 1 hour and 45 minutes in length – totally doable for our family. Our group was maybe 12 in size. Our tour guide UL, or EL?? was very fun and knowledgeable and kept it short, sweet and interesting for all – you weren’t in one place too long while underground. Would def recommend your family to go and see!!
This is a must do in Paris! Our group of 8 enjoyed this tour immensely! The guide was very knowledgable. This place was so much more than we thought it would be!
